Cookworthy Forest Nr Holsworthy

The Forestry Commission have started harvesting operations in Cookworthy Forest. This will involve the use of heavy plant equipment and large vehicles using the forest roads. Please observe all safety notices and exclusion areas. It is anticipated that this work will last until Autumn 2010. 20 May 10.

Cookworthy can be very wet and muddy underfoot. Wellingtons may be advisable under these conditions, and a change of footwear and clothing is recommended.

There are two private residences in the area, and there is no public right of access. Please do not use the tracks through either property.

The Start/Finish post has been replaced. The ground remains rather muddy. 09 Dec 09

The overhead power line that runs through post 10 and 19 has been removed, although the poles are still in place. There are windblown trees around post 10 that require careful negotiation. 07 Feb 10
